Mindmapping donuts

My first thought path was ingredients so I researched the ingredients for donuts. My second thought was Donny sounds like a mafia name so Italian theme. Next I researched toppings and fillings and finally shapes which led to animals and round objects.

Blue Days

I tried various themes for Blue days. I decided sadness or rainy weather was uninspiring so tried a water theme and went to the aquarium.  I found the photos too grainy and borrowed the TAFE camera to take photos on days with blue skies. These photos got corrupted so I went with the Aquarium photos.

Drawing with the Right Side of the Brain

Drawing this upside down made me draw the foreshortening rather well but the head tilted.

Crossing Over: Experiencing the Shift from Left to Right

When drawing the vase/faces pictured my mind automatically tried to make the second face part parallel to the lines. This lead to confusion when I got to the forehead as I tried to make it parallel to the other face and the lines. I also without thinking drew the left face with my left hand whereas I had drawn the right face with my right hand. For parts like the forehead, neck and lower lip I switched to the vase so I could get the symmetry correct at these points I switched back to the right hand. Besides the clockwise tilt of the work there is also discrepancies in the chin, lips and noses. The parts done as faces rather than as a vase. 

Introductory post of introduction

Today I am introducing ME. As stated in the title my name is Vanessa Joy Blockley. I am studying Interactive Digital Media Certificate IV because I have an interest in animation, digital effects and 3D modelling. Before entering this course I was studying Education early childhood and primary and this was a shift from that.  I hope to gain knowledge about digital tools so I can enter digital media as a career. 


My interests are gaming, drawing and animation. I submit my traditional and digital art on my Deviant art page frequently.
